what should i pump gas for TSX?

im a noob at this, but the dealership told me that the TSX can be used for 87(Regular Unleaded) and the book also said it too. but somewhere along of my research, i see people say its better for the TSX if you use 90(Premium unleaded) because it saves a little more gas in the long run. and its also healthier for the car, is this true?

My gas cap says to use premium fuel. So I obey. There are a lot of threads on this subject.

Well from what I've read, if you use the lower grade gasoline (87 etc) you'll be getting worse performance and gas mpg than if you were to use 91. I usually use ONLY Shell or Chevron and MAYBE mobil. 91 of course.

I'll admit I use 87. My TSX is a highway commuter car and I rarely live in VTEC range. The car could probably be somewhat livelier in the stoplight derby with 91, but I don't miss it. I average 30.5 mpg just about every tank. It goes up to 32 when I dump in a bottle of fuel injector cleaner/octane booster every 5K miles. I have 108 k miles on the car and the engine has never knocked and still runs like a jewel

Use the premium fuel. You will get better MPG and will not experience knocking/pinging.

I'd go premium too. I've always pumped premium with all my Hondas unless it was stock Civic.

Now that I haven't done.. I've only used premium if its recommended for my car..and most hondas do not need premium with the exception of the newer Si and the newer acuras..

thanks a lot you guys. yeah, i guess we got the wrong information from the dealer or something. i didnt realize newer cars such as the TSX needed 90 premium fuel, it was no wonder why when i test drove the car i felt a lot of power. but after i took it home and my wife refueled the car with 87 regular, i didnt felt the power like how i did when i test drove it at the dealer. >_<

i only drove my TSX for 3 days, but now its been 2 months since i last drove it. i am military after all, hoping for a tune up when i get back with all the money thats sitting at home.
