OEM Osram D2S bulb vs Other brand D2S bulbs?

I started a thread last week about one of my low beams looking 'yellower' and not as bright as the other, and I ended up replacing both bulbs with Phillips D2S 4300k bulbs to see if that corrected the issue. The problem stayed the same leading me to conclude the problem was with the ballast or igniter.

I brought my car in to the dealership today to see if replacing the ballast was covered under warranty (it is) and they told me that non-oem HID bulbs will never look the same as stock. Is this true? Even if it is 4300k? I thought Phillips brand was of the same or better quality than Osram (sylvania). I notice when driving that a lot of tsx's have kind of a "blue" reflection when driving by, but my xenons don't do that. Could it really be the bulbs?

I thought our OEM bulbs were Philips. Are yours Osram? Also, the blue or rainbow should only be at the cutoff. Below the cutoff it should be bright white. If you want more blue, you could always do the washer mod.

Yea mine are Osram "Xenarc." I put the Phillips in and thought they were better, but I can't really tell. By blue, I mean that "flicker" when you see a car with HIDs coming head on.

Hmmm... isn't 4300K more of like YELLOW/WHITE? from far, it should be like yellow-ish. I don't think i seen one tsx on the road with blue-ish light from far. (I only know TL does that)
