When i pulled mine off i used microfiber cloth and a flathead screwdriver. i had an instruction booklet that told me where the clips were so i put the flat head around that vicinity (covered with MFcloth!) and was able to pop it out easily. but i guess don't do it if u are not handy, it definitely needs to be done extra carefully

If you haven't gotten it off yet.. get a cloth/rag (so you wont scratch anything) and some plyers and grip it on the middle console where the emergency break is..make sure the cloth is in between the plyers.. grip it near the emergency break toward where the cup holders are..and if you still cant get it..grip it closer to the armrest.. and this is right where the gap is for the emergency break.. hope that helped

finally got it guys, thanks for your help, i ended up using a thin long flat head screwdriver and pushing the clips so it easily popped out. i squeezed the screwdriver between teh shift leather boot and the trim (cause i snapped it before anyways), you can see the metal cliip, so i used the screwdriver to push in the bulge that holds the console in.

now i'm stuck on the 2nd shift cable, i got the clip off on the left one, but the right shift cable doesn't want to come out!?!??!
