Novice Header Question

I have 05 TSx 5AT w/ Comptech Ice Box Intake. Is there any benefit to adding the Comptech Header w/ out adding the Cat Back Exhaust? My goal is increase in air flow and power w/out any additional exhaust noise

You'd get negligible power gains with just an exhaust manifold upgrade, however you're ultimately restricting flow without improving the catback flow. An exhaust manifold upgrade itself will increase noise regardless.

So what about the reverse. Adding a Comptech Cat Back and using stock header? Any hp increase? What abbout add'l noise? Also if I buy the "quiet tip" inserts does this defeat the purpose of the cat back system? Thanks!!

Either way, the outcome is the same. With just the Comptech catback, you'd see virtually no gains even just weight reduction from the heavily OE system. Yes, adding silencers defeats the purpose of changing/upgrading.

The compromise is simple, you want more power. You'd gonna have to live with more noise output regardless of manufacturer/tuner selected.

No gains. Your Header and cat are the two bottlenecks. If you do the header, you need to do the cat. You can probably get away with the OEM catback exhaust as the restriction is fairly minimal in comparison.
