Question Engine Noise

Hi all,
I have a 2005 TSX 6MT with 3500 miles. My engine is getting significantly louder compares with when it was new (especially before the car is warmed up). It sounds like some parts are worn out (ticking sound). Do you have the same experience? If yes, what's the solution?

I have friends who own Honda Accord/Civic. All of their engines sound the same when their cars get old. I would like to make sure my TSX is not getting into this problem.

I would like to make sure my engine does not age too fast. Is it too early to hear the Honda I4 engine ticking sound for 3500 miles??

Age too fast? Dude, make yourself a gin and tonic, put a wedge of lime in it, have a seat and just relax...

Engine ticking is attributed also to cooling, it could not even be coming from the engine, instead it could be from the exhaust manifold or exhaust system. In any case, that ticking noise is normal and commonly heard even in exotics.

As Joe suggested, you're being a little close to being paranoid IMO as well.

I think the ticking sound is due to you driving really hard. the valves are breaking in i guess and loosening. I think its' fine. my rsx type-s did that too.

Usually, I drive in the range of 2k-3.5k rpm. Occasionally go to 4.5k rpm so far. Not really hard. I won't complain about the rattling sound .... but the engine sound some how makes me feel like I am driving a Civic...
