Chipping ECU

i would like to chip the ECU on my TSX but without having it detectable to void warantee. does anyone know of any companies that could do me this without it being detected by the dealer? My Car got sponsored by a local car shop so this is where i can get the opportunity to chip and tune if i want for free.

Unless you have a full complete ECU and have it swapped out when you need to ... I'm almost going to be certain, running a tuned/unfactory spec ECU will be picked up instantly by the PGM-FI tester used by Honda/Acura.

i was lookin into Hondata and my shop owner said the reflash wont be detected unless the dealer goes into the ECU. also if i just use another TSX ECU would it be any problems or would the car operate just fine?

Euro.R is neutral and has a clean balanced record.

I know the hondata reflash is compatible with the Honda scan tools but that they can still probably detect it. Also, you can't just swap ecus, you'll need the ecu, matching transponder and coded key. A new set of these 3 items runs about $1000.

You've just answered yourself there. Heck, even Mechanics wouldn't know without looking at the diagnostics or pulling apart your block and see how your engine has been used. As above, my response still stands as the only solution if you want warranty + run an aftermarket ECU without being intensively detected.

The PGM-FI tester will report unfactory calibrated settings almost immediately when plugged into a non-specified factory spec ECU. Yes, you can't just swap factory ECUs, what you need is to have the ECU's immobilizer system removed/disabled. Then you can run it in any car you like.

While $1000 is a mere sum compared to the price of replacing a short or long block when you unexpectantly blow it from running a "super ECU for that extra 15whp". There isn't the best of both world about tuning/modifications. Why do you think the Hondata sells it for so cheap? Because it's a reflash, not a complete replacement ECU.
