You've just answered yourself there. Heck, even Mechanics wouldn't know without looking at the diagnostics or pulling apart your block and see how your engine has been used. As above, my response still stands as the only solution if you want warranty + run an aftermarket ECU without being intensively detected.

The PGM-FI tester will report unfactory calibrated settings almost immediately when plugged into a non-specified factory spec ECU. Yes, you can't just swap factory ECUs, what you need is to have the ECU's immobilizer system removed/disabled. Then you can run it in any car you like.
While $1000 is a mere sum compared to the price of replacing a short or long block when you unexpectantly blow it from running a "super ECU for that extra 15whp". There isn't the best of both world about tuning/modifications. Why do you think the Hondata sells it for so cheap? Because it's a reflash, not a complete replacement ECU.
