Smile Intake questions

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone has the K&N drop in air filter for their tsx. If you do, how do you like it? Does it make the car run rich or foul up the plugs? And lastly, does having the drop in K&N filter void the factory warranty for the engine? Sorry to bombard you guys with all the question. Thanks a lot in advance!

That's untrue.. the world would be very different if warranties worked like that. But I do know K&N filters won't void your warranty.

I purchased a K/N air filter for my 06 TSX about 2 months ago. They come pre-oiled and ready to use. I think the K/N filter is the exact same one used in the I-4 accord? I really haven’t notice any “seat of my pants” difference in power or sound (maybe a touch more growl at WOT but it is a 5AT).

I had a K/N air filter in my 97 Accord for the last 4 years. I take it out and clean it every 6 months with the K/N cleaner kit with oil. Just remember not to use any pressure to wash the filter (let the cleaner do the work and pressure can destroy the filter element) and do not over oil the filter. I figured the $30 investment saved me about $250-$350 in gas and air filters. I actually just ran out of the K/N filter cleaner solution last month after 4 years.

The only way the K/N filter would void your warranty is if you damage the filter element during cleaning and trash/dirt/sand got inside the engine.

You will never have to purchase another air filter as long as you take care of it.

the K&N isnt going to do much. Will not void your warranty. Wont make the car run rich or anything like that, its just a basic filter swap. Won't do anything for power either. But you wont need a new filter for a guaranteed Million Miles
