What oil filter brand is best for TSX? Also, is the oil filter door hard to open?
Hi all,
I am looking for oil filter. Is Honda filter good enough? Is FRAM really bad? Please help?
Also, could you comment on how hard / easy to open the filter door cover?
Thanks in advance!

what is this filter door cover you're referring to?
the oem honda filter is sufficient.
without jacking up the car, you can gain access to the oil filter by turning the front wheels all the way to the right.

I have ramps I like to use... just kinda reach up there with a filter wrench and take it off... the OEM oil door is real easy to get access to, I've been using Fram, though to tell the truth I do keep on hearing bad things, so im not sure if ill switch or not

Can you seriously tell the difference between different oil filter for the most part?
Trying to figure out the rational of why people would use one filter over another. I'm guessing if you track the car..then you might find a use for a better oil filter but if your a soccar mom, would you care?

I understand but wouldn't using a normal filter with regular oil changes be good enough?

The OEM filter is best for our cars/motors.
Another way to do an oil change is remove the bolts to drop down the back of the whole under engine cover and use a pice of cardboard to direct the oil down to the drain pan and off of the cover. So far this has worked best for me. Less mess to clean up.

an oil filter is an oil filter.
Maybe a too good oil filter is even worse for your car then a 'normal' oil filter... it maybe filters out all the important addatives the oil has.
new/more microns/more blabla is not always better.
BMW in historic formula 1 used old engines from the junkyard and rebuild them to F1 engines. They were better then newly manufactured engine blocks because of all 'moulding strains' in the old engine block were disappeared over the years of use.
