horsepower estimate
Hello guyz
I have the injen cai on my 05 nighthawk black pearl tsx 6-speed
I'll be getting the Hondata ECU reflash in as little as 2 days...
so I'm guessing the gains combined will put me at around 230hp?
of course I know that's not at the wheels...I've heard it's usually 15% lost...
so around 195hp at the wheels?
a few things coming up...probably in this order...
Hondata
comptech rear sway bar
tein basics
fuzion zr1/ or Yokohama es100
oem kit
just took off my greddy evo 2...loved it, but needed some cash, and some peace and quiet in the car...
should find all the performance I lost, and more, with HONDATA!!
ECU REFLASH... can u say VTEC?!?!
i'll definitely post driving impressions
God bless
Kevin

195hp on the wheel? you expected too much! JTso from the other board is already the hero that able to squeece out 197hp without sc and he almost got every single mod available in the market + a lot of custom stuff too.

Ians has 185whp, consider he has DC Header, Comptech Airbox, UR SS pulleys, 6MT, and some other stuff. I found that our Dyno numbers are lower than those in US, but whatever, we can compare it to ourselves...

haha...
thanks guyz..maybe I really am too naive...
but I just wanted to ask, if someone were to ask me how much hp my car has right now, what would I say...I mean, to people who don't care, and don't know, "wheel hp" 230??
yeah...how much actual hp I don't really care for...but as long as I get my GAINS...that's what I need...
thanks a lot
GOd bless
Kevin

Yeah, but don't forget JTso's ride is a 5AT. A 6MT should potentially see about 10-15% additional gains due to lower tranny loss.

^^ Oh! I never know his TSX is AT!!! But what we found from our dyno in Toronto, 6MT usually give 10hp more than similar mod on 5AT, so it will be kind of more likely a 7% different.

the 2006 mt will make about 20 more wheel hp than previous years. FACT - read hondata's website about the revisions made to the new 06 engine. more than just looks fyi. larger intake ports,tb, revised crank. blah blah
around 175 whp 05 with hondata and cai/sri auto
06 hondata with cai 190 whp or as high as 200 (6MT) dunno, ill dyno and let you know. :shiner hondata dynos with dynapacks, attached at the hubs. so their power figures are a bit higher than the dynometer figures, due to rotational mass .

a cai usually adds very few hp. like 5-7 to the wheels....in realistic numbers. its usually not something you notice while driving. with hondata though...you should feel a difference.

"i don't think my 06 6MT makes 200 horses to the wheels "
read hondatas website - cai and reflash 06 mt, netted 212 whp and 165 ftlbs.
http://www.hondata.com/reflash_tsx_06.html
given the dyno being a dynapack thats still mid 190's to the wheels on a dynometer. Belive it buddy.
and on high cam the 06 mt makes 15whp more than the 04/05 - READ the improvements made to the 06 over the previous years, its more than just words.
