bluesolara's HONDATA IMPRESSIONS

I have a same post on the other forum...so please don't flame me...

H.O.N.D.A.T.A. R.O.C.K.S.

I had the privilege of living in so cal, and was able to drive to EPIC MOTORING in wilmington, 5 minutes away from the HONDATA facility in Torrance, CA
there was no need for me to take the ecu and the immobilizer out myself, all I did was paid up, and he took the car to HONDATA, came back within an hour...and I had my HONDATAFIED 05 6spd TSX!!

I'm not gonna write too much, since you all have read up on HONDATA...
I'm just gonna confirm all the previous impression threads for y'all

1. first off, the vtec was lowered to 5000 as promised, the higher cam switch-over
was not as obvious as before, but don't get me wrong, that's because torque
delivery is constant, and power keep rising...the major HINT is my intake...
I thought the INJEN CAI was loud before....NOW?? sooooooo loud
the sudden drop in torque that usually occurs at 6000 disappeared...there were
torque readily available in all gears, at all RPMs

2. Throttle response is amazing, especially improved the 6th gear, like someone
posted before, you no longer need to shift down to 5th to pass up someone on
the freeway, there is no need, throttle response is instant. One way I look at
it is that each gear acts as if it was a gear lower, hence...3rd feels like 2nd,
5th feels like 4th...

3. 2k-4k is no longer sluggish, no longer the long, dreaded wait until 5k-7k comes
around...torque is there...and before you know it, as u hit about 4k...the car
starts pulling like crazy...all the way 7600 rpm

4. and last not but least...my favorite part...as long as u pull up to at least 7000
rpm for every gear, you are ALWAYS IN VTEC!! I merged onto the freeway
today in 3rd gear, pulled all the way to 7500, and to 4th, believe it or not, the
rpm was around 6000, waaaaaay into vtec...
now I am truly imagine how the 0-60 time can drop nearly a second...you're
always in HIGH CAM!!

5. Conclusion: I have a much faster car now...
Hondata....I'm a believer now...

big thanks for jlukja for all his help, and his referral to EPIC MOTORING...
I don't know...I believe I may have had the best HONDATA purchase experience ever...

didn't have to spend time to take the ecu out...
didn't have to live without my car for a few days
didn't have to go to the post office
didn't have to pay tax

and the best of all...Kevin, of EPIC MOTORING, because I had to wait around 40 minutes before they took my car to hondata, gave me a discount...

so I didn't even pay 595...

thanks, KEVIN from EPIC MOTORING
and thanks, jlukja (Jan)
thanks, DOUG from HONDATA, for all your time put into R&D to develop this awesome ecu reflash
and all those who patiently wrote down their impressions of this AWESOME, awesome mod...
totally worth the money, best bang for the buck for sure...

I am HONDATAFIED!!

God bless y'all

Kevin

I wish hondata had an east coast rep, or atleast would come to eastern shows. I don't really have the ability to send the ECU out for a couple of days.

I have been really close to doing it, and I have spoken with Hondata on the turn around time. Best case is that your car is down three days, which means you pull the ecu & immobilizer and fedex them to SoCal the first, Hondata flashes it the and FedEx's it back to you on the second, and you have it on the third.

Still, it is hard to impossible to be without a car for three days, and loners can be hard to come by.

Just got Hondata Reflash. It works wonders...can't believe how much gains it gives me. Definitly worth it. Got it done by Epic Motorsports in Willmington.
