Questions about Hondata and Apex'i SAFC NEO
First of all, Merry Christmas to everyone....i have spent another great year here learning a lot of goodies.
Here I have two questions.
First, I have 2005 Auto TSX, so is there anyway I can install Hondata? I heard that there is some ECU problem that it is no way I can have Hondata for 2005 Auto TSX.
Second, I am checking out the Apex'i Safc Neo, the Vtec controller. I want to know whether that really works for TSX 2005 Auto. AND if works, how much horsepower can it add up?
Just have some spare money, so I want to use them for some new goodies.
Thanks a lot.

Well, our stock tiptronic let us go over 7000rpm anyways, it goes up all the way to 7300 (7400)rpm before it cuts the fuel. With Hondata, it lets you go a bit further, 7600rpm to be exact.
While the VTEC controller might seems to work, I've actually e-mail directly to Apex'i, and they said it's only partially works. The reason being why partially is, it will let you tune the VTEC engagement point, as well as A/F ratio. However, once you shut ya car, restart, all the setting will be gone. This is due to the TSX ECU keeps "re-tuning" itself.
But, shawandgoTSX, go ahead and let us know if it's worth. My friend has a VAFC on his SiR, and I definity love it.

if the vtec controller resets evertime....i would say its not worth it. I'm sure Apex'i is working on something for our cars to fully integrate.

It say in the online manual that the AFC NEO should work with K24, why would Apexi bother making a product that only partially works?
Given they know there is a problem did they say it was being looked at for a fix?

^^
They developed the products for K-Series engine, and it's compatiable w/ K24, does it works on TSX?? Who knows?
Maybe the K24 Accord works, or the K24 Element works, but not TSX. It does work on TSX but the ECU is too smart to get trick, so it keeps reset to the stock setting.
You can always buy their AFC NEO and give it a try, maybe it works on your car~!

I didn't have to find an 04 ecu, because a guy on the forum did a AT to MT swap and couldnt reuse his ecu. So i bought it off him with hodnata already included.

YUP, he has the regular VAFC. I know the VAFC2 is different than VAFC in both programming and outlook, I'm just referring to my first impression of such a unit.
There's a guy on this forum does have VAFC2, forgot his screen-name, but he's from Europe. He's pairing w/ his EuroR. You might want to search him out and ask the details.
