Header and Exhaust
Hello,
I want to get ideas on Headers and Exhaust... Which one will work best with each other. I have my eyes on the Tanabe Medallion Touring Exhaust. I just want to know what Headers would work best with this. Or please any ideas would be appreciated.
I have hondata reflash and Injen CAI, I just want to complete the stage...
Thanks everyone.

I don't think many ppl on this forum have the Tanabe...
If you want the most gains, get the Hytech exhaust and headers... but that's alot of money haha.

You know you can do a search rite???
Anyways, the cat-back exhaust will not yield much horsepower gain, maybe 1-2wtq. Therefore you should focus on the header. Search the following so that you can understand their characteristic.
Regular Header choice:
1. DC Sport 4-2-1 2pcs Header
2. Comptech SS 1pc Header
3. Cheap E-bay/OBX/Topspeed "replica" header
Race Header choice:
1. Mugen SS Header
2. Hytech Race Header (Need to use their whole cat-back too)
3. Maxxum Race Header
4. some other baller brand that I forgot their name...
So, you got a bunch of choice. It downs to what brand, budget, quality, material, power curve you prefer. Start your study.

Maxim it is, not Maxxum.
TODA the other one you were thinking of? Needs Euro R CAT or testpipe.

Might also be helpful to point out that the Mugen and Maxim Works headers are designed for the K20 in the Euro-R.

Exhaust manifold is completely interchangeable - it's only the flange on the end that connects to the CAT that differs on the two engines.
Oh, I see now what you're getting at.
Just to add - Feel's now have a K24 version, so no faffing about with JDM CATs or custom Metal Cat one's, unless you want a freer flowing CAT as well - makes sense to do that at the same time.

Yup, Maxim is what I'm talking about. Sorry it's not Maxxum, keep thinking of the Mackenzie Maxxum Dividend recently.

ok, I am looking for the most power to compliment my Injen CAI and Hondata. So, is the MUGEN the best way to go? I'll save up and pay for it if there is no other system that will give the gains that Mugen will.

Don't know if Mugen is the one to go for - not sure what their gains are like.
Feel's or TODA would be best.

Is TODA street legal? I don't want to put anything on my car that isn't.

Mugen is legal since it comes with a CAT.
To use a TODA one, you need either a JDM Euro R CAT or have one custom made from the OEM (change header flange) or something like the free-flowing Metal Cat CAT.
The illegality comes from running a testpipe instead of a CAT - there's nothing inherently illegal about the headers themselves.
