auto tranny slipping.
ok so im abt to come home and i had my dad drive my car for me. it has been sitting for the last few months undriven. it has not been in an accident and none of the mods i have done have had any connection to the tranny. now my pops is telling me that my gears are slipping and that he had to coax it into reverse. im scared is this under warrenty cuz i can not afford to replace the tranny. i got the car june 7th last year. this is f*cked up. i had this happen to a previous car of mine a modded out '02 vette with the lingenfelter 575 hp twin turbo package. it included a tranny mod and it cost close to 4500 to repair...

Your powertrain is covered for 70,000 miles on the TSX. The only way they will not cover the tranny if you failed to do routine fluid checks (engine oil/tranny oil).
I would check the tranny oil level and add Honda/Acura ATF oil if low. If the problem still occurs, take it to Acura and get a loaner car while they fix it for free.

Honda/Acura has a pretty good record with I-4 tranny over the last 15-20 years. I've never had a MT failure and only one AT failure since 1990. The routine maint on the MTs over the years was higher compared to AT routine maint over 100k-130K of mileage.
V-6 Honda/Acura tranny are a different story. Most problems with those were resolved after 2002/2003 model years. The current 2.4L 5AT tranny has been around since 2002 in Asia, europe, and now the US. It is pretty close to being as reliable as the rest of the car.

My tranny also apparently had a bad seal, and some other issues, the Tranny Fluid was black, so something was burning... Acura replaced it under warrenty...
Come to think of it, thats the only thing they ever replaced under warrenty

so i got an email from my dealership. they told me the leak is from the top and they found metal pieces in the shifter linkage area. end of day total cost is 4750 for new tranny plus 475 for inspection. as a side note they alo said my oil pan is dented and my front beam is as well. i have never been in an accident in this car. i have never hit road kill. i never even went over a curb! how the *$&# could all this $41t happen to my car. on top of that i can afford the repairs b/c of the fact im a student who as an investment just spent his small fourtune on a house. F***!!!
