Fujita Cold Air Competition Intake

I am looking to purchase an intake for my 06 tsx. I was wondering which one would be better as they are similar price range.

1: ICEBOX
2: Fujita Cold Air Competition Intake
thx

BAYAREATSX06 is neutral and has a clean balanced record.

It depends upon what you want...icebox is similar to stock, while fujita is a full CAI. The ice box is made by comptech so it is covered under waranty, its kind of like comparing apples and oranges. The search feature at the top of the page is your best friend because there is an abundance of info on both intakes...

thanks

any input on the injen intake?
I want a more aggresive sound.. but dont want to lose too much low end torque for that reason.

thanks

from what i've read, the fujita and injen are relatively comparable as far as performance goes. they'll provide you the more-aggressive sound you're looking for in higher rpms.

but i've also read there is low-end torque loss too. the icebox is more-similar to the stock setup, and the loss of low-end torque isn't as noticeable. but you won't get the aggressive sound with that setup.

What are the chances of Injen intake getting water into the engine... I live in Toronto... we have a few rainy days.. but a lot more snowy days...
any risk? and does the comptech icebox sound more aggressive than the stock intake as well?

with the comptech, your car revs a little harder, and there might be a little more pull when you punch it.

i can't speak for the CAI as i've never had one, but from what i read you really need to have the entire filter submerged in water to incur the chance of hydrolocking. but if you plan on driving through a foot of water, then you probably deserve it.

injen and k&n have hydrofilters that go around the cone filters on their CAI's. they're just there to repel water drops, sprays, etc...from getting into the filter to reduce the chances of hydrolock. but through all threads i've read, that's a pretty rare case for the CAI and even moreso for the icebox.

i belive you get an extra 4hp off the fujita, use a hydro shield to avoid hydrolocking your engine. You can also save some $$$ if you purchase the CAI, you will get addicted to the sound you get from a CAI, so i say go for it

i just bought a 2007 tsx last week and as i was looking over the cai threads over here, many of u guys said that the 07 tsx already has a bigger intake then the previous models, so i was wondering is it still worth getting the injen cai or even the fujita for my 07 tsx?

I'm in Toronto too, I had the Injen CAI as my first mod since last Feb06, so far so good.

As I have said in many many thread, as long as you are not REVING HARD in a puddle of water/rain/snow/slush, you will be fine. And why booting it in such a bad condition anyways.

You can see the picture below where's the filter hanging, it's pretty up high and my car is lower too...

As far as performance, I have driven both TSX w/ CAI and TSX w/ Ice-box. The initial response is very sharp w/ the Ice-Box, especially in the low-rpm range. The CAI does suffer the loss of torque in low-rpm range, however, it rev harder than Ice-box in high-rpm range (4.5K rpm - 7.3K rpm), you can actually see the needle is going up faster w/ CAI.

For daily driving --> Ice-Box
If you like to rev ya car all da time --> CAI.

And yes, the CAI makes alot more noise than the quiet Ice-box.
