UR Pulleys Sqeaking Noise & Gargling Sound From Cat!?

I've had the pulley's installed over a week now, no problems except now it starts to squeel even with the A/C off. Is there a different belt that is tighter or anything that I can do to get rid of the sound?

Also, there was a gargling noise coming from the rt cat/header location. We saw there was a leak in the flex pipe, we installed a new one now the gargling sound is even louder. Could that be since there is no longer a hole/leak in the flex pipe? How and why would my new 3 week old RT cat just break like that. The best way to describe the sound is "water flowing through pipes"!?

The noise prior to the flex pipe swap was only there when in drive, neutral, and park no noise, now the noise is there all the time!

What should I do guys?

I'm taking my car into the performance shop, they are going to do a swap of the RT back to factory to isolate the issue. Most likely it is the RT Cat.

call RT, they have very helpful support guys there. As far as the belt, I think you just need to adjust the tension on it. Sounds like it's loose.

Are you using the gates belt or the stock belt? The stock belt is known to cause a squeaking sound with the UR pulleys over time cause it's not the right fit. The part number is GATES #K070683. You can get it from rockauto.com. You can also try lubricating the belt.

Good luck!

Is the gates belt as comparible to the stock belt, yes I am using the stock belt.

Looks like the RT cat is bad guys, after installing back the stock cat, all the noises from the lower part of the car were gone. It's sad, when you shake the RT cat, the contents inside are loose, how would that have happened?

Is the gates belt the best belt to work with the UR pulleys?

I called and the guy was a complete asshole. He said it was my fault, mostly it overheated which is my fault, etc etc. I just told the guy, look, if you want to keep your customers try acting more professional. How would I overheat a cat!? Is that why you offer warranty, so you can tell the customer it was their fault. It's not like I beat the crap out of it until parts started moving around, hey, here's a crazy idea, maybe it's defective. NO WAY! Maybe it got slamned around by fedex, who the heck knows.

How did you guys talk to, I got the asshole of the year!

wow... you really got the short end of a stick...
when I called, they went out of their way trying to find me some extensions between the cat and exhaust, since the exhaust was hitting my RSB, even though it wasn't their exhaust, just the extention was supposed to be placed between their cat and the exhaust, and it was next to impossible to locate something like that...
...this is old and over with. Long story, short, they really went out of their way with their support.

Yes, the Gates belt fits the UR pulleys perfectly and is even recommended by UR. The stock belt will wear quickly with the pulleys and start making noises just like what you are experiencing.
