Mugen Headers/Cat - Info Needed
I'm considering getting the Mugen Header/Cat. To my understanding it will pass emmissions but has no carb approval code. Is that due to the cat since it's attached to the header as 1 piece. To my understanding if you modify your stock cat it's illegal correct, unless faulty? Is the Mugen header/cat a race header? What is equivelant but is carb approved with a tag for California Use. I don't want to spend $2k for the set, then get ticketed since they have no carb approval and have to pay to swap back.

Let me know, need advise.

- Header & Cat. doesn't attach as 1 piece
- The cat. can use with diff. JDM header like Toda...etc.

You should contact King Motor Sport for carb approval on that item since they are sole authorized North American distributor

That's the info they provided, are all RACE headers street illegal (I would assume). What's equivelant or better that is LEGAL (better than DC Sports Headers) with the same if not more gains.

^ nothing. You can't compare race header to just normal aftermarket headers. The gains honestly aren't that much of a differece, but still a few hp away i believe.

YOu can try and get they Hytech race system and see if they are CARB legal, since they are in teh STates, they might have something in store for your needs

You will not benefit MUCH for going to race header because we don't have any ECU map to utilitize it. K20 will be a different story because of K-Pro, in general you can at least 15whp/10wtq more than just an aftermarket header w/ proper ECU management.

Hytech does have a CAT - it's a low cell number (100 or 200, IIRC).
They can supply what you want - CAT or testpipe.
