Bypass Valve

Do I need a bypass valve if I want to install Aem short ram or INjen Mr short ram intake?

Will there be any complicate installation other than just put it on?

Will both of them pass the carb ?

no you don't "need" it. Unless you plan on plowing through puddles every day that are deep enough to get up the bottom of the bumper and in those vents on the fender well. Plus the bypass valve is always sucking air from under the hood which may counteract some of the benefits of having CAI.

But to directly answer the question, no it will not complicate the install. Just be sure that the inlet and outlet diameter of the bypass valve matches the diameter of the CAI you are installing. And yes both AEM and Injen pass CARB for our vehicles.

hes actually installing a short ram....so no, you dont need it at all, dont waste your money. You would only remotely even "need" it if you had a cold air intake. if you get water to that point in your engine where the filter on a short ram is....that'll be the least of your worries...lol. you'll be swimming in your car!

didn't even notice where he said short ram lol! In that case it wouldn't even hook up! The bypass valve goes right where you filter does on an SRI. So it wouldn't work.
