Which is quieter
Which Short Ram Intake Out There is more quiet.
AEM Short Ram or Injen Mr SHort Ram INtake?
I've did some research on the forum but didn't really get that much out of it.
Just Curious about you guy's user opinion.
Will they both lose power on the low end since its short ram?
Thanks

as far as which is quieter i dunno

Any SRI will NOT lose torque as the CAI since the tube is so short, therefore their initial response is much better than CAI. However, the SRI will suffer from heat soak since it's right beside the engine, no doubt about that.
As for sounds....
SRI > CAI > Comptech Icebox/Mugen Airbox > Stock Airbox.

Have you ever sit in a same (brand/model) car w/ a SRI and CAI setup?
The SRI will be noiser than CAI in low rpm range, and I found almost no different @ high rpm, or CAI is a bit noiser than SRI. But either way, the SRI is loud as hell and quieter from one brand to another does not mean anything.

chuson is right it doesnt really matter from brand to brand. if there is a difference it wont be noticable. the diagram above shows decible level decreasing from left to right (SRI is loudest). if your looking for a quiet intake look at the mugen/comptech.

Yea mugen or comptech would be the quietest for sure...or if ur really worried, i had a SRI and took it off cause it sounded like a blender...and i lost low end torque...now i got a k&n drop in...very happy with that

Drop in means a drop in filter to stock air box. I removed the resonator/ j-pipe from stock intake and like the sound and free-er breathing stock intake.

Exactly. what i had before was a SRI. After close to a year i took it out...sounded way too ricey and like i said loss of power...Pizzaman555 had a Injen CAI, and he took his out as well cause of the same situation...both of us got K&N drop in/replacement air filters and actually got a increase in both torque and HP...granted its nothing major but u do feel a little more pep...so inturn i say if u want to try SRI or CAI than do it...But from myself and another noticed it wasnt worth it...but others here would dispute that to the death...so its ur call my friend!
