Injen Intake complaint
After looking at a couple of other people's intake on this site, I realized why my Injen intake never seemed to fit correctly. Most people have a slanted hing thing that goes to the battery. Mine doesn't have a slant, which leads to the inability for me to fit the intake correctly.
mine is this:
instead of like this:
which makes my entire setup look like crap:
It doesn't leak or anything, but it does look really bad. Any suggestions on what I should do? Maybe bend that piece of metal? Get a longer piece of rubber thing so it completely engulfs both pipes? Or maybe it doesn't need that slant and I just got my angles completely wrong?

Did you double check your store send you the right Injen Intake for TSX? or Did you order the right one?? I never see anyone complaint on this issue other than noise and loss of low end torque.

Well I'll be damned. That does look pretty bad. As has been recommended, give Injen a call. Also, do you have the original sales reciept/box your intake came in? Double-check the model. Maybe you got an older TSX model or something, and they added the "bend" to the vibration mount in the recent version - I dunno.

i ordered it from excelerate from the other site a while ago. I still have the box, which says that it's for the tsx, sp1431p. I think I'll called Injen to see what they say.
I always thought that I just put it in wrong, not that there's something wrong with the product. Don't want to have to send it back to injen and revert back to stock, even for a little while.

they said the bend is for RD series only, the SP series doesn't have that bend. Can anyone confirm this? it doesn't seem to fit without that bend.

Heat it with a torch and bend it in a vise or some thing.

have you tried twisting the pieces around?
this pdf of the injen install shows a similar pipe with only the flat bracket and it seems to fit fine in the pics here.

Sorry for reviving this thread, but i have the same problem.
I installed the Injen CAI yesterday, but i doesn't look right, also my filter seems to rubbing the inside ( metal wall ), is this normal?
Are there any solutions yet, because i've tried to get it right, but still no luck after 2 hours of trying.

my filter rubbs too, I have the Fujita CAI, the same happened on my Scion Tc with a K&N filter, i think its normal. You should be worried if theres any metal rubbing. I used paded double sided velcro as a precaution.

the SP's mount is straight. I just put my CAI in too, but after messing with it for a while i got everything to fit well. the filter doesn't rub at all. Make sure you have everything pushed correctly into place, it looked like your secondary pipe isn't pushed in all the way. I mean...I have the exact same intake and everything worked out fine, so im guessin some trial and error should solve the problem.
