Unhappy I RedLined my car for the first time with only 900 miles

My 07' TSX is still breaking in, it has only 900 miles , yesterday, after a long and painful traffic jam, I got " trigger happy " and redlined the sucker when passing a slow ass BMW 745 , will this damage anything ? ? ? ? ? ?

Your car would be very disappointed in you if you didn't run it to redline several times a week after breaking it in.

That is the problem with honda i-VTEC engines... to really get some serious passing power, it has to be redlined to get that sucker going... low end torque in the TSX is mediocre... but for some people, that is where the joy is...

I like my TSX, but my other car, the RDX with the turbo i-VTEC, certainly feels less stressful driving in city traffic, with the gobbles of torque available down @ 2000 rpm.

The TSX is best enjoyed on the track, like a RX8, revving that sucker all the time.

Considering you alreadr drove 900 miles, I don't think you need to worry. You need to vary the RPM during break-in period too.

If it's short shouldn't do to much damage. If it was me I would wait 5000 miles to be on the safe side, but that is just me. Bad break in burns alot of oil in the long run.

You won't do much damage unless you keep hitting the rev limitor.

Depends too, personally Im a big fan of breaking in cars the hard way... only thing about a hard break in is the car needs to be warmed up first, considering you were in traffic im sure it was warm enough, so your absolutely fine...

900 is already past the break-in period. Hitting redline didn't hurt anything...unless you passed it by shifting from 5th gear to 2nd gear (in a manual transmission)
