Upgrading Exhaust and Headers, keeping stock cat

I wanna get the comptech headers and catback exhaust but still use my 07's TSX catalytic converter. is this practical?

yes but its not gonna help you yield any significant gains. as far as exhaust's go, its prolly the last mod to get to sustain any power. If your looking for power an intake and hondata would be the best way to go. But, im looking to upgrade my exhaust this summer after i get hondata bc i want a different sound and im going to also get the T1R testpipe that deletes the cat because the cat on our car is sub-par at best. That testpipe wont throw a cel either because it moves the O2 sensor away from the testpipe a bit i believe. But hey, thats just my 2 cents

Get a RT Cat... your pretty much creating an hour glass if you do that, you'll probably lose power

the header will free up some power and weight, the catback is lighter and sounds better but not much for power. a high flow cat or test pipe will compliment these other two items very well .. look at exhaust like this: if blowing through a straw of small diamter, it is hard to flow much air; now make both ends of the same straw larger but leave the middle section the same smaller diameter. Will the straw flow much better??? yes but not much better.

You should have asked in your Header thread, too many repeated topic thread recently. And if you search on Comptech Header/Exhaust, it told you it will fit cause it's for USDM CL9. In short, all header/exhaust designed for CL9 (TSX) will fit, for CL7 will NOT fit without JDM CAT/Exhaust.
