212 hp on 04-05, 222 hp on 06-07?

hmm, i came across this interesting wikipedia info about K series engine. it says that the K24A2 engines have 212 hp @6800 rpm on the 04-05 model and 222 hp @6800 rpm on the 06-07 model. very interesting. sorry if this is a repost!

It could also be that the HP measurements were taken from the crank, and not from the flywheel. I believe the 200 HP measurement is taken from the flywheel, and the 212 HP is from the crank. Please correct me if I am wrong.

What's the difference? They are both attached to either end of the crank shaft. Unless they are testing one without the parasitic drag of the accessories like AC, PS, and Alternator, but I doubt that would gain 10 HP.

You lose/gain power at certain parts of your drivetrain. IMO, at the wheel horsepower is really the most usable measurement, even though its the lowest number

not sure if it matters, but the airflow is better on 06+ vs. the 04/05. it's marginal, but it helps.

Yeah, someone posted on this forum that with just an INJEN CAI they got 173.02whp and 142.9lbs ft. on the dyno. It was an 04 model bought from a Honda dealer. So stock isn't even 173hp at the wheel

Sorry man, not even close .

A stock auto TSX is probably around 140-150whp, and a stock manual TSX is around 150-160whp.

if my memory serves me right, auto trannies lose about 15-20% to the wheel, ,whereas manuals lose around 12-15%??? it all depends on different cars, but this is a close regulator.

Remember, 205 is with the new scale. If you use the old scale, it'll be 215 (ie: if you want to compare your car to an older one)

If you want to use whp, you should also compare it to the whp of the other car
