engine question :

i bought my car about three months ago an 04 with 57,000 miles and I'm still not sure if my engine sounds as its should or runs as it should it makes a real whiny noise @ about 4000 rpms is this normal ? I thought it might have had more of a bogy sound more like the rsx.

It depends on the gear that your in. If your in fifth right, and the engine is 4000 RPM, and your going uphill, it's going to be straining the engine. Hence the whine.

take it back to the dealer you bought it from. if you got it from a private seller bring it to a shop. burning oils smell is no good.

Do you have the AT or MT? My 04 with MT has a whine to it that the dealership called normal. I would be more concerned with an AT that had a whine to it, since it always seem to signal the end of its life (heard it many times on other vehicles).

Also, nice to see another fellow Ohioan!
