Double Wammy
I been thinking of buying a new exhaust and header. I'm getting tired of the loudness of my setup now.
Dcsport replica header - t1r Test pipe - dcsport exhaust
Well I was at ikea in paramus taking shots of the car when I noticed my passanger side tip was off... completely off.... gone. The cannister is there but no tip. I have never ever seen this happen.
So I took it to the shop, to get checked out. When they put it on the lift, they found no damage to my exhuast but my downpipe has a big crack.
The shop said they could convert my exhaust to single outlet, with some cutting and welding. Its a quick, ez, and cheap fix, but what you guys think.
I'll put some pix up tomorrow to lazy to upload pix

It would be a one of a kind single exhaust thats for sure. Its likely someone stole the tip.

The thing is if you want a quieter setup, your problem is your exhaust, not the header or the test pipe. Going to single tip DC sports will still be loud and probably obnoxious.
You need a quieter catback in general. Tanabe MT, Greddy SP2 or Evo2 would all work. I think DC is the loudest one out there... maybe look into the new Tsudo N1 exhaust, people say it has a nice sound on the RSX-S.

I went to jerome ave in the bx and boy these guys are something else.
I visited a couple of muffler shops they gave me some crazy prices from 300 to 150, with some crazy ideas. From several different cheap ebay looking exhaust, to cutting the good tip and placing some other tips in place of missing tip.
Finally i found a shop that i could negotiate with. Now we had agreed for him to cut the good cannister, which was on the drivers side, and put it on the passanger side. He said yeah sure papi come back in 30 minutes. So i figured he understood, so i bounced when i came back the good muffler was still on the drivers side... lmao.... all he did was cut the exhaust where it splits and seal the hole. After some complaining i gave the guy 30 bucks, and drove away.
I'm not sure if drove away with a steal or not. I'm not sure if the pick up is much better or not, but the tone is much different for sure. When I accelerate hard it sounds raspy ricey, and no longer deep like b4. When I'm cruising it sounds a little more tolerable then b4, now. Even though it definetly looks like one of a kind, its only a temporary fix. I dont like the look of one muffler. I'll be keeping it like this for a short while till I can cop that tanabe mt.
Oh and the header is fine no cracks whats so ever, it was only normal hissing found on dc sport and replica headers.

that sucks.. wonder why it wouldnt i would think if there weld job wasnt done correctly that it would be considered under there own fault. i wonder whats the point of even haven a warranty then.. still sorry to hear about the loss... could of made it a single exaust instead of dual that would of probably been better then letting a guy name jose do it.. i would of thought read flag when they would of called me papi haha im curious to see the before and after now.

you can try going to an exhaust shop and get an resonator, or get a highflow cat instead of test pipe.
Since everyone says the rt cat and test pipe increase the noise in most exhaust.
My fujitsubo is really quiet and even on my 05 an magnaflow highflow cat increased the noise. I think 900 cell stock cat down to a 400 cell cat.

hate to bring an old thing alive but.. i just had this happen today lucky enough i caught it before it completly fell off. I was washing my car and the weld on the driverside canistor cracked all the way around.. it look like it was just a weak weld to begin with.. the welding on the passanger side is alot better.. but just had to tell you RICE you arent alone..
FYI when i went to pull the car around to my garage the canistor fell off so if i would of driven any further i would of been looking down streets HAHA
