Ghetto Intake

For all you guys out there with the 04'' and possibly 05'' tsx's you can rig a simple intake filter to the end of the stock pipe by deleting the intake box and possibly the resonator for more performance as i did. while many of you are " suspicious" of this method trust me it works you just have to find the right sized filter and a clamp from any local hardware store. The reason i say 04-05 is b/c the sensor is before the filter and not where the filter attaches causing a check engine light to come on. The gains have been similar to after market short rams , loss in low end rpm's but huge gains in mid range and a nice growl.

I was tempted to do a ghetto intake but went with the CT icebox instead.

thanks for the warm welcome ive been visiting quite some time but never actually posted, ive seen the DIY comptech , but i feel that with a cone filter the sound is much deeper and desirable

The Cone filter would work, I did that for about a month before switching to a Real Intake.

However, at this point I now believe that the Cone Filter was acting as a little more then a noise maker, and I was probability actually loosing HP, Just spend the money and get a real product like the Injen CAI, or AEM if you just want to keep it short ram. Also PM me when you get a real intake if you need someone to install it, Fellow Long Islander here.

just do what i did(guess you guys can do the same thing; im pretty sure the airbox's are the same)

remove the resonator. get a K&N. grab a dremel and cut half the bottom of the air box off lol.
