is this how the tsx is?
hello, i have an 04 tsx and i noticed that the gas light comes on even when the needle is alot higher then the E sign. in most cars, the needle goes down to the bottom and then it comes on, in my car, it comes on when it still looks like it has about 1/4 a tank left. is this how it goes? how many miles are u supposed to getonce the E light comes on?

my 06 is the same, the light comes on when I have about 80km left on the tank, then the light annoys me so I fill up, but only put in about 50litres out of 65

Poor lil' student

Just fill her up anyway...I usually fill up when my tank hits 1/3 to 1/4 left or so...always take the precaution especially if you drive a lot of highway like me...
Wouldn't be fun if you get caught in a jam on the highway with very little gas...then she'd be running on fumes...

ridiculously good looking

i think it depends on your average mpg...when i drive conservatively (~27 mpg), my light comes on when the needle is pretty low, but i if i drive i like i stole it, the light comes on earlier.

I have an 06 same thing happens. When the light turns on I have about 25 miles still left. Then when it hits 0 I still have about another 20 miles to go.

Yeah same on my 04 its kind of annoying. Not saying it should go on when the needles buried but not when you have over 3 gallons left.

i have an 05 and mine does the same but like he said depends on the driver, if I drive like Ms. Daisey it comes on alot later than if i was fast and furious.....
PS I think our gas light is FUGLY is that interchangable at all, I think red to match the gauges would be sexy!!! so can it be done???

It doesn't matter at wich point the light comes on, it still leaves you with a certain amount of miles that can be driven.
Wich in this case is 60 miles ( didn't know that for the TSX ) As Pizzaman said.
So even if it comes on at half the gauge, it's still gonna be the same and leave you with 60 miles. This beacuse your computer calculates the exact amount of fuel you use over period of time and then takes the average you use.
So the amount of fuel left in the tank and the average use will be used by the computer to calculate at wich point you have to fill up.
In other words looking at a longer period of time.
If you drive it hard and get low Milage per gallon, the light will come one way before the Empty marker.
If you take it easy and get good milage per gallon, the light will come on much later, and closer to the Empty marker.

My gas warning light came on today and after driving about 15km more I was only able to fill it 50 litres (supposed to be 65L tank). I suppose it depends on the pump as well.
