Air duct next to radiator..

Im new here and new to modding but I want to get into it. Im looking to probably put in a K&N Typhoon Cold air intake, and ive read both your installation instructions and the one on K&N's website. I was just wondering though, I notice that there is an air duct covered by a piece of plastic held in by 3 pushin pin things, is that not part of the stock intake? In both installation instructions, that part is not mentioned. I appreciate the help and am excited to get started when I get the moola.

A picture of what you are asking about would help. It sounds like you're asking about a plastic cover that goes over the top of the resonator by the battery. I left that piece in.

the plastic cover and part of the resonater can stay but I chose to take out all the intake. either way you will be fine when swapping to a CAI

I left the cover there but took the resonator out, cuz it looks cleaner to me. the Injen installation instructions mention it, i've never looked at the K&N cai so i dont know..
