Type R transmission

So i did a little searching and still havent seen anything about anyone (at least on this forum) doing this. Would a JDM DC5R tranny fit in the TSX? I know most parts in the K series engines are swappable, but what about the transmissions? I have a feeling it would probably work, what do you guys think?

I've been thinking about doing this 1. for the LSD and 2. for the more aggressive gear ratios.

Also, if it would fit, how would the LSD and VSA work together? would you have to constantly have VSA off or can they work together without causing any problems?

Thanks!
`Coop

I don't know about the whole transmission, but guys have put RSX-S gears (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th) into the TSX before with success.

since your in the states, try to get a tranny from a K20z3 (civic Si 2006+). they also have LSD. but check the ratios between that and the DC5R
and then let me know cause i was also looking into a swap... out tranny is good, but it seems bad becuase we dont hit VTEC until 6000. shifting from first to second and the RPM dips to 4000 RPM

according to someone i know, not sure how true though, the DC5-R tranny wont completely bolt on because of the LSD and 1 bolt hole is a bit offset or some ish... im not too sure.

Dude, you mind letting me check out the reflash? I want to see if it's worth the extra cash. I'm in NYC as well. I hate how when I shift it doesnt stay in vtec.

Juss so u guys know the dc5-r tranny and 2006+ civic tranny will not bolt up 2 the tsx frame. I wanted 2 do the same swap 2 my 04 accord. But it wont work so the only option i have is 2 use a tsx tranny since our cars have the same mounting points 4 the tranny. Hope this helps.

Hondata'd, every gear goes into VTEC, 1-2 shift puts you exactly at 5k.
