I found this on youtube. Its probably a repost, but some might find it to be a useful alternative to the Comptech Icebox.

yeah but the cover is different on the inside (smooth as opposed to having that grid).

Ill stick with comptech but good DIY for someone who doesn't wanna spend the money...

Very good! The K&N Flows well for sure but I have heard favorable things about the foam type filter like the one comptech comes with.

Also this is not including the trumpet design on the intake tube which on the comptech increases intake ari velocity. Also I am unsure if the actual volume of the comptech airbox is larger than the OEM one, which would give better low-end. Lastly, the comptech box has a smoother design inside which will impreve airflow as well.


The DIY is great but just saying all this to enhance the notion that you do get more with the comptech part...it's not just a hacked off tube and high flow filter. Some thought went into it.
