Interest in new header??
Hello,
My name is Chase, i am starting up a new business and i am looking to start by making parts for acuras. My main reason for posting this is to see if there is even interest in a new designed header for the TSX.
I am not sure if i am breaking any rules by posting this, if i am, then i apologize and would appreciate it if you tell me how i can go about it the legit way.
For those who are interested. I was thinking of designing 304 stainless steel header for the TSX and was thinking about pricing it around $499.00 retail.
I am just trying to get a feel of the TSx market, If there is any interest, please let me know.
Thank you.

In Simi valley, CA and yes i actually do have some pictures. I'll look a few up and post them. The products are really high quality build (just like any major brand name, even better then most actually) and i offer a lifetime warranty on them.
I got to get into my other computer for the pictures so i will try to post them by tonight.

i think there's always interest in more options/parts.
are you making a race header or one that'll pass smog/CARB tests, etc...? right now it only seems like comptech is the only company that has the best bang-for-your-buck header in terms of quality, build, gains, and price (around $599). the only other CARB-approved one is DC sports, but that one has had so many design issues and marcus from heeltoe auto basically swore the company off due to their horrible servicing and lack of quality in parts.
you have the cheapo knock-offs like top speed, and every thing after that seems to be JDM race headers that'll cost at least $1000 or more.
so i guess in short--yes, would be the answer.

It would be nice if you can get a stainless steel Race Header, carb or not. Toda/Maxim/Hytech race header can be your reference of design.

Would you guys mind getting me links to websites showing the headers? or pictures would help as well. I did a little research but i have more to go through.
I can tell you right now that it will not be CARB, that costs way too much and i will never recover my money if i sell then for less then $1,000 a piece and that is not what i am going for.
BTW, i have seen companies advertise CARB headers but in reality if the header does not retain the stock cats then it cannot be CARB certified. I am not the kind of person who will say anything in order to sell a part.
My goal is to make a header which will provide good HP/TQ gain, be good quality and true bolt on for a reasonable price.
If you can post some pictures for me of the other headers mentioned, it would be appreciated.

Too bad it won't be CARB. I would have been intersted, but I don't want to hassle with that shit when I have to get my car smogged.

Just because a product isn't CARB-approved doesn't mean it won't pass smog. The only issue in that case would if the mechanic does a visual inspection and insists on seeing the stickers or stamp.
I once bought an intake for my accord because of its CARB status. After it was stolen, the shop used a generic intake (to this day, I have no idea what company made it). My car still passed visual inspection and smog.
I'm not sure, but I'd assume gaining CARB-approved status would involve lots of money...dynos, studies, license fees, or what not. CARB won't do tests themselves for free...they'll expect the companies to do that.

I can match the quality without a question if not make it even better. In all honesty, i am not a fan of ceramic coated headers, i will only offer mine in 304 stainless steel and polished for show quality looks.
As far as design, it will be designed for daily driving. I want something that will gain in horsepower and torque yet retain drivability and comfort factor. I can also design an exhaust system that will work well with whatever header i design, specifically noise levels. Horsepower gain is easy to achieve with an exhaust system, but i can tune it to mellow down the header notes to make it a little more livable with for daily use.
All i need to see is enough interest.

How long will you need the car if this does happen?
