You're asking for VERY premature tranny failure by doing that. Use the clutch! That is what it's their for.

I know you can shift without using the clutch, truck drivers do it all the time, but why would you? I don't see the benefit, but I can see the negative consequences.

Just use the clutch. You will save yourself a lot of (transmission) trouble later!

Not to seem like an ass but not using your clutch seems like common sense that it would be hurtful to your tranny. that is a weird question to ask. I don't do it on purpose but I have shifted pushing the clutch pedal halfway in and it grinds nasty and sometimes wont go into gear.

I say use Honda Genuine Green Label fluid.

Acura came out with a silver label fluid recently (the former one was a blue label) that I used on my tranny rebuild in my RSX but it made my second gear grind worse. I am switiching back to the Honda green label stuff.

I would totally agree... either use OEM Tranny fluid or GM synromesh(SP), I used both in my Integra and to be honest I liked the OEM stuff better, it just smells nasty LOL

Do you guys change your own tranny fluid? How do you get all of the fluid out of the tranny case? Drain and fill only changes about 1/4 of the actual fluid (that I know of). And I thought that you need to hook up some kind of machine to vacuum it out?

The only fluid it doesn't change is the fluid still stuck to the gears and LSD and a small amount trapped at the bottom but I'd say about 1/8 of the fluid doesn't get changed by just draining and refilling.
I usually drain the fluid and then add 1 quart run the car for 1 minute and drain that fluid and then fill it back up with 2 quarts or until it starts pouring out of the fill hole. You don't need a vacuum machine, it would just make it more efficient and easier. The vacuum way is expensive since you need about 6-8 quarts of fluid to do the flushing and then the 2 quarts to fill it up. Its about $8 per quart of tranny fluid. But then again who has a vacumm machine besides the dealerships and they will charge you about 120-150 dollars for that labor.
