Apex WS2 Opinions
Hey guys i dont know if u notcide that Heeltoe is having a blowout on this exhuaust. I did a little search for videos and couldnt find much at at all. Do not many ppl run this exhaust if not why not. If you do run this exhaust what are ur opinions on it. Also on a side note does this exhuat have any fittment issues with the comptech RSB?

+1 Very interested.
Also, are there any gains from this system?

I'll let you know tomorrow as I have one coming today. I went ahead and purchased the Progress RSB as well since it was relatively cheap.

A'pexi is one of the most underrated companies in existence. It was started by former employees of HKS about 20 years ago. Those of you older than 25-30 years may recall HKS as being the grand old godfather of our import performance industry. The tuning firm has focused on quality from day one and you can see it in their products. Even Apexi packaging is head and shoulders above the competition. The names HKS, Greddy, and Apexi mean less today than they used to. But remember that they all come from Japan and embrace the same principles that less conventional companies hold true!
The N1 is their big power system. Apexi has dominated the power exhaust market in the past with the N1, and practically invented the angled canister look.
However the noise and ground clearance compromise has little place on the street as law enforcement grew more and more strict with exhaust mods. Noticing the street success of the Greddy SP2 Apexi released the World Sport exhaust as part of the WS lineup that included specially tuned suspension kits which were all designed for reliable street use. Since then the WS has been a great alternative to the trademark large canister style of the SP2.
Over time, the WS has eveloved to meet market demands and 5-6 years ago the WS exhaust became the WS2, with a new slash cut style tip. But the large canister muffler style stayed, as did the near perfect exhaust note. You need to remember, the WS was invented at a time when the cops were on the hunt for rice rockets in force. So anything exceeding CA legal decibel limits was at risk of causing issues. So the WS was designed to meet the decibel limits of OEM manufacturers. Meaning the WS2 is about as aggressive as the most aggressive stock exhaust in terms of sound. It is tuned to be heard but not annoying. It does not drone at all. It enhances the nature of a sports sedan in a perfect way: without ruining the car!!!!
Power gains are moderate with this system. Larger mandrel bent piping and high flow mufflers will enhance the performance. The goal of this muffler is to make the car more fun on the street meaning a little power, a little sound, and a great look!
OH! And it should be noted that APEXi developed and tuned this exhaust on an employee car. Extensive R&D went into it to get the sound and fit right!
Marcus

I have it. I don't know if there are any fitment issues with the Comptech RSB, but it fits with the Progress RSB with no problems. The sound is awesome, not too loud at all. I rolled up to a premeet and they didn't even notice I had an exhaust. As far as gains, I'm not sure how much is gained as I've never done a dyno. It is a great looking and sounding exhaust though!

Sure, I can do that. I'll post up my findings tonight or tomorrow.
P.S. anyone in the market for a used Comptech RSB?

On another note, you could probably get the exhaust and the Progress RSB from Marcus(Heeltoe) for cheaper then you could buy just an exhaust from anyone else. Marcus is a great guy and I highly recommend doing buisness with him

would you say it gives a nice deep sound at idle? also does it open up when you get on it and get louder...but a good loud...lol. I dont want to spend money on an exhaust that sounds almost the same as stock.

well I got the sway bar on fine but Apexi decided to send me two right hand sided mufflers so I didn't get to put the exhaust on. I could see how the Progress sway bar allows more clearance though. Looks to be about and inch or so. Oh well hopefully Marcus at Heeltoe will get this matter taken care of quick so I can put this bad boy on.
