PS Removal?
So I checked the website out however I was unable to find anything on the subject. I have seen the PS/AC removal kits for the K20, however I should keep the AC for the fiance.
I am wondering if anyone has successfully removed the PS and if so what is involved in the process. I learned how to drive stick on a 350hp WRX with a heavy clutch and no PS. I love the feel without the PS, and it seems a lot easier to drive too; more stable. Thanks in advance!

why remove it? just get a lighter pulley for it.. the only thing youll be saving is the weight which is about 15 pounds.. plus have you driven a car with out PS our Power assist stearing? you think its hard to turn tight corners at slow speed and parallel park now wait till you take the PS off.

Yes, I have driven a car without PS. Honestly, the feel is SO much better without PS. Its not about the weight savings, its about the feel of driving.

why remove PS?? if u want the engine to spin faster, or if you are looking to reduce weight, try these first:
lighter flywheel: less weight and engine will spin quicker
light weight pulleys: less weight to allow engine to spin quicker
Skunk2 Pro series Cams: less weight to allow engine to spin quicker
removing the PS, you might as well remove the AC compressor
if its cost as to why you are removing this, then you should have bought a DC2 or EJ8

you could do a short belt, but the power steering needs to be run sometimes for the seals.
i used to remove the sc, power steering and sometimes the alternator when i went to the track on some older rides. just measure the route with some string and order the right rib serpentine belt in the appropriate legnth.
you need a deep cycle if you want to use no alternator. not that you asked though.

Okay, lets do this again:
I want to remove the PS because I prefer the feel of a car without PS. It's a much better driving experience IMHO. Have you driven a car without PS?
I need to keep the AC because this is the nicer car between me and my fiance. I need to make an attempt to make her happy. I'm the only one who drives it, so it no PS will affect no one else, whereas no AC will affect her resulting in me having to hear complaining on hot days. Money is not the issue, the fiance is.
I'm asking mainly because on my Civic I was told that I could not remove the PS because the pulley also lubricated the column. I want to know if this is different or the same case for the TSX.
I am not looking to free up more power, make it lighter, or make it into a race car; I simply want to remove the PS because I prefer the feel.

I did this in my gsr before.
All you need to do is make a loop on your power steering rack where the fluid enters the rack. You loop the in and out, then put a breather in the middle of that loop to allow fluid to move around....so you're not push against a closed loop system.
Locate that breather around your firewall or shock tower.
This way you maintain fluid to keep the rack lubricated, and its non pressurized.
Good luck.
