Heat Shield

So after having a look around I've decided I'll probably go for the Injen intake and run it as a SRI. Does anyone know of any filter heat shields available to fit the CL9? I prefer the response of a SRI over a CAI but I'd like to protect the filter from under hood temps as much as I can.

IMHO, the filter wont be the problem. That part of the engine bay seems to stay relatively cool (feel your intake lid after running around). The problem will be that your metal piping from the TB to the filter will become hot from the engine/transmission. Best bet, again IMHO, is to do an Ice Box or similar, or to wrap your intake in a material conducive to keeping cool air in and hot air out.

It may look kinda ghetto if you dont do it carefully and paint it, but at lowes you can find some insulation for ducting that has a sticky layer of foam with foil on the other side. If you wrap your intake carefully so as not to get wrinkles in the foil, make sure to butt it up carefully, trim it around corners, then paint it over with a not so flashy color like flat or semi-flat black. then it will insulate your metal tube well enough that it wont get heat soaked real bad.
