tranny problem..

i uno whats up with the car.. i just replaced my clutch (oem) like 3 months ago so its still good... but now i think my tranny is going out not sure.. every time i shift to 2 4 6 and reverse it goes in smoothly but theres the problem it goes in to smooth.. it was never like this before.. its soft when i shift and smooth.. and i can pull the stick back even further then where its suppose to be.. i cant punch it anymore cuz when i shift quick it grinds those gears.. 1 3 and 5 seem normal.. can it be something with the shift linkage? or synchros? please can someone provide me with some answers.. im planning to mod it out but i dont wanna if my tranny is going out..

oh ya i do have warrenty too.. you think dealerships cover trannys going out?

what year is your car?
do you track your car?

all my gears are fine except for 2nd. sometimes during normal driving my tranny grinds when trying to go into second. im not sure if its the tranny and i dont remember if i even put the clutch down all the way. But i grind in second. when you come to a stop, shift from 1-2 2-1 1-2 2-1 to line the syncros up and see what happens

Who replaced your clutch? Maybe they messed with the linkage somehow.

Dealerships should cover transmission problems as long as the car is still under warranty.

Have you changed the transmission fluid?

its a 04 tsx.. i had one of my buddies over at honda do it for me hes a tech.. i dont think he messed things up but i havent changed the tranny fluid yet.. i doubt thats the problem but ill try.. any suggestions on what kinda tranny fluid is good

oh ya i dont track it either... i want to =D

If it is under warranty, take that shit in, and they will probably fix it no problems. But, make sure that they know that YOU DO NOT track your car or race it in any way, otherwise they will probably not cover it under warranty.

evertp1, you may be able to get away with the same thing if you go there and play real dumb... like you didnt know it was bad and stuff. That is, if they dont already know you track your car...
