Dbw

My biggest complaint (besides the seats) in the tsx is the dbw.
I hate the lag and the part throttle response is annoying.I heard the civic Si guys were converting back to cable, and this interests me where I'd like to look into it a bit more.

Is there any links or reading up I could do to get some more info on this. I think it would require a lot of work, but Im just curious to the full extent of it.

Thanks gang.

Converting back to cable throttle means you have to convert to the rsx throttle body/cable/pedals/ecu. this means you would have the ablilty to use KPRO but you would lose VSA, Cruize, and maybe your gauge cluster. There is alot of info about this already out there, so start by searching here on the forum. If that doesnt satisfy you, move to google, and there is a wealth of info to be found elsewhere on the web as well.

You won't necessarily lose your gauges. Get an electrical manual and figure out the wiring. As for reverting to cable. I don't know why you would do such a thing.

Quote:
1. RSX Type S throttle body with RBC adapter plate OR accord TB should bolt directly

2. throttle cable (EP3 should fit)

3.) older k-series ECU - preferably K-pro'd make sure to get a version with the speedo correction b/c '06 si runs different VSS than older K-series

Because the Si has a digital speedo, you would probably need to have it K-Pro'd (just a guess, since the RSX and older EP3s did not have a digital speedo).

Here is more info on the K-Pro: K-Series Programmable ECU

If there is any more that needs to be done, I will post here, and let you guys know. So far, since this is such new technology, we are still exploring it.

If you want to do this to fix the infamous "RPM hang", there is a ECU modification for that, and you do not need to change the DBW system.

DBW is a new throttle control system, and currently it's not "ideal" for racing or high performance, but as we learn more, it might be the best setup... currently people are not happy with it due to the delay of foot hits pedal, pedal tells ECU to open throttle, throttle opens.
Just an FYI. The NSX uses dbw.
