Hissing Headers??

I just got obx headers and im hearing a hissing noise which i do not think is a exhaust leak so im wondering what it could be? MAybe the flex pipe or something else. I only hear it when i get on the throttle not at an idle. Im hoping it is an easy fix bc i do nt like the zippy hissing noise. Let me know if anyone has experienced this with headers,

If it's OBX, I would say it's probably exhaust leak, as there's fitment issues with the OBX header. You'd have to get the car up on a lift and get someone to rev it while the other checks for leaks.

Ok, so I talked to the guy... in his case the problem was that the flexible joint at the inferior end of the header had a small cut... that cut wasn't visible until it grew (he changed a couple of gaskets in the process, believing that this was the cause). He cut the flexible joint and welded another one (from an Audi ), and the hissing is gone... It was hissing right from the start, so probably a manufacturing issue...

Hope it helps

Your the man!

Thanks for the info i just need to buy a more heavy duty flex pipe! It must be a manufacturing problem!

I installed a TS Header recently and hear a hissing. Took it to a shop and they swore the flex section was not leaking and that you can just hear the exhaust through the header more since it is a thinner material than stock. Not sure I buy that fully, but I have not yet had time to rig something up to see if the flex section is really leaking or not.
