Gains from single outlet cat-back ?
Hey people!
I have been searching for a few days, but I couldn't find any info on exactly how much better single outlet exhaust is compared to dual outlet, in terms of performance that is. Does anybody have a dyno graph? A link? Anything that could provide helpful info?
Thanks !

I don't have a dyno, but my J's single gave a nice gain. I didn't know if that gain was from the single outlet or from the 30lb weight loss.

30lbs is a fair amount of weight but I bet the gains were mostly from airflow. I've added over 20lbs in edead and I didn't even notice it.

so funny.. i was just thinking about this in the morning. i just searched. and here i find someone was wondering what i was wondering. haha.
here's a few exhausts i've found (msrp), but haven't found dynos...
5zigen ZZ (Single outlet) K24A 04-08 $850.00
5zigen A-Spec (Single outlet) K24A 04-08 $1,150.00
J's Racing 60RS Titanium Muffler (CL9) $1,642.67
J's Racing 70RR Titanium Muffler (CL7) JDM Spec $1,642.67
rather unfortunate that those are the only ones i can find..

time for an update...

that is my lastest dyno and here is all the data i have collected on my car over the last 3 years:
1/4 mile best time stock - 16.5s california speedway
1/4 mile best time full mods - 14.7s
1/8 mile best time full mods - 10.02s irwindale drag
mpg: 24 avg
mods:
04 mt w hondata
injen cai
comptech header
custom single exhaust
carbon fiber hood
hankook RS2
kosei k1 ts
buddy club N+ spec
comptech rear sway
ingalls camber
i tried really hard to take off as much weight as possible. For every part i replaced i weighed the stock and the new. so far i've calculated my car to be approx 3230lbs - 96lbs = 3134lbs w 207 whp dynapack
tip: my single exhaust added 10lbs of torque and saved 30lbs off car

How about a single straw that splits perpendicularly and then 2 new straws make a 90 degree angle each? I think thats a little more restrictive than 1 fairly straight and wide straw.
xpert, thanks for an interesting quote, but 1 thing kinda worries me. I found that post too, yesterday, and the person who posted it got banned for some reason after 120+ posts. I know that people may be banned for different reasons, but still...
I guess I will have to do this research on my own by dyno'ing my car before and after I get that single exhaust

oh no, i don't have one, but much like tsx_ws, im looking into buying one very soon. the information i posted was from searching around for people who've already performed this modification and posted results, which is currently scarce.
i noticed that person was banned as well. one could have a troll or the person got into a verbal (typal? lol) fight on the forum. he still seemed to be a somewhat credible source. ill hopefully purchase one of the exhausts i've mentioned by this summer and post dyno results.

o man, i'm not too sure.. i save the custom stuff for project cars (which just ends at the downpipe anyway). for my daily, i'd stick with mere bolt ons, besides, its auto. the two most significant modifications id consider would be a k-pro tuned for e85, but i haven't done much research.. its just an idea.

with an intake, you should gain over 15WHP with J's. and you will gain TQ as well. Im not sure about the 5 Zigen exhausts, but i can say that about the J's

i have a single cat back on my car because I was under impression that single may give an extra bit of torque where as duals will give an extra bit of hp. I wanted the torque.
