Hondata Writeup on K-Pro Tuning with CT Supercharger w/ Video
Hey guys,
I just saw this writeup by Doug from Hondata on tuning his TSX with CT Engineering Supercharger:
TSX CTSC Tuning KPro
There's also a video on Youtube of Hondata's car on the dyno.
Lots of good info in the writeup. The interesting thing is that for the Supercharged guys, Hondata found that there was not much performance benefit to advance the cam angle past the stock 25 degrees.
What this means is that, until Hondata does more testing, we don't need to machine our VTC for greater than 25 degrees of cam advance. I thought I should pass on the info since I know there have been some guys including myself, who have been researching getting our VTC machined. Doug has an 06 TSX intake cam, so I'm wondering if that had an effect on his results. Thoughts?
Keep in mind that the < 25 VTC is only for the SC guys. Hondata's previously arcticle on tuning the TSX has already shown that it is beneficials. (I just want to restate this to avoid confusion.)
Anyways, enjoy!

Just to clarify, I believe Doug's pulls were done on Church's Dynapack dyno which reads higher than most other dynos.
On a Dynojet, I would expect to see output numbers closer to 311whp/226wtq (assuming 8% loss).

Agreed. I wasn't trying to say his results weren't impressive. His car will surely smoke many an unsuspecting bahn burner/VQ-mobile.
My intention was to help put things in perspective for other S/C owners who are planning to add K-Pro. Peak numbers for others most likely won't appear to be as large as Doug's even though relative gains should be comparable.
...oh, and these might or might not be in my future down the road:

That is what I would expect to see on a Dynojet.
Testing a stock Civic Si has seen wheel HP of 155-195 HP depending on the brand of dyno.

Oh, I totally understood your intentions, just saying... 310WHP will pwn lots and lots suckers who make fun of TSX since its called a sport sedan, but has only 4 cylinders. Especially EVO and BMW and G35 drivers, LMAO! I laugh hard when imagine this TSX pulling up to one of them at a stop light.

Think the major variations could be cause the MAF sensor is the primary sensor for fueling on that car? Or just dependant on which dyno is used?
