I am pretty sure most exhausts would sound a bit different than what clips can offer. I would agree though, the APEXi might sound less throaty in person compared to the clip.
i2ide, your car sounds like it has a pretty loud idle. Is that more due to the header or exhuast?
it was about 40 degrees outside. and it got quieter

I SPY! Johnny wong with his OMG license plate and melted bumper! hahaha, doesnt he have an Icebox now?
Ok, now im not here to bash anyones exhaust, but why is the Apexi such a fart can? When coming down off the throttle, they all sound so janky! No offense on anyones choices, cuz with different headers, im sure they sound dif, and the crappy handheld camera mics dont help either, but IMO the only one that sounds good AT ALL is the Skunk2.

A sound clip is only as good as the mic that is recording it.
That being said, if you're interested in the A'PEXi exhaust, I'd recommend you hear it in person. I've had the A'PEXi ws2 for a couple months now and I think I can speak for most A'PEXi owners when I say that the clips are not what they sound like in person.

lol skunk2 is the biggest fart cat ever :/ it's extremely loud, too loud for my taste. and if you hear the ws2 in person, it's very mild and toned with a mellow rumble.

You live in socal pm a few memebers and go visit them i'm sure they wouldn't mind letting you hear and see their car.
I did that for a few members here in ny
+1 on the facts that mics don't record exhaust sound very accurately. My exhaust is not nearly as high pinched as it is in the video. Same goes for WS2.
Sorry that the sound has some cracking, its from my mic. Exhaust was too loud/close.
This is my exhaust after swapping one of the mufflers (driver side) with a flowmaster 40 series. I have Topspeed Headers, Magnaflow Cat, CAI and Cylinder resonator delete. All the labor was done free, so it thats why I never just went aftermarket catback. Plus it was fun doing all the custom work and seeing how things change.
As for gains, I felt the difference from changing just one mufflers. Car revs easier/higher. I didn't do it for the gains tho, I just wanted a deeper sound and it gave me just that. You can hear it when your on the gas but its not really dronning (but you can hear it on the freeway). Regular passengers were fine with it and barely noticed.
