Math Teacher's TSX??
Hello... I'm a new guy here.
I have a calculus teacher who owns a 2005 TSX.
For some reason..we started talking about cars one day..and we talk about his TSX all the time.
He asked me to look up a chip...intake..and exhaust for him..not to make it faster...but for a little better gas mileage.
I can only find generic intakes...which doesn't matter...and I can find an exhaust no problem...but I keep finding no name generic chips which I'm not familiar with.
Can anyone give me the name or a link to a chip thats well known, reliable, and will give him a few more miles to the tank?...extra speed is a bonus
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hondata is the only thing, and its not really a chip. It's more a performance gain by remapping the ECU. No real improvements on gas mileage, but it does stay the same before and after installation.
Here's a link to the product: Reflash - TSX

Yep, for no efficiency chip, probably because not too many people who mod their cars are concerned about efficiency gains.
I would imagine that an intake would do well, make sure to change the plugs on occasion, regular maintenance, and get tires with low rolling resistance. BTW, from what I've read, a newer exhaust won't really increase gains by a measurable amount. The TSX already has twin pipes for a single exhaust, so there's more then enough piping.
And tell him to join! Maybe you'll have a math teacher with a ballin TSX! And that we're not a bunch of kids with Civics here, either. A lot of the discourse is very mature.

Ha, he's not going to become more efficient with performance parts.
I mean he will if he drives slower than he did before the mods.
HeelToe Automotive is probably the easiest place to get cheap parts and reliable service. Use tsxrocks for a discount.
IMO Apexi WS2 Exhaust, Injen intake and Hondata are the best options for someone who is not willing to do his own research and just wants some added power.

As what was said above. By chip I imagine he is talking about those fake POS chips sold on eBay? Those things are a sham and do nothing but waste time and money.

in all honesty, I would not recommend the Ws2 exhaust nor the Injen intake for someone who is only looking for better efficiency. There's too much noise added by both of those mods and a loss at the low end of the power band.
I would recommend the Comptech Icebox intake and no Exhaust at all. Hondata reflash would also be really nice jus to get a lil more uumph.

/\ I agree with the comptech intake.
But he said exhaust, and for someone who wants some gains but probably not a lot of noise, I think the WS2 is the way to go. Gains aren't huge but they're there. You will notice it in your drive.

if u want any economy, get UR pulleys, DC Header, Random Technology high-flow catalytic converter. Mind u, stuff is pricy and I am not sure how soon it will pay off.
