Newbie w 06 TSX CL9

Hello;
I am getting my wife's 06 TSX, because she will soon be working at home.
I would like upgrade the car, hopefuly to take to one of the sports tracks in the area.
I would like to know how to get started so i dont waste money. Or get caught up in chasing hp numbers. I am new to Japanese cars and I dont know about a lot of terms that I see.
Whats a Cat back?...*S
What I am looking for is a stage 1, stage 2, stage 3, setups.
I know I am in the engine section but if I am better served doing chassie and wheels, please point me in the right direction to start my study.
I would love to have a BMW M3, but Whoa thats too much money.
I feel this is a great platform to make a very desirable and respectable ride.
If you can help with info, and places to buy, and used stuff to buy to strech my buck, that would be Fantastic..!!
My wrenching experience has been on late model Harleys.

Lets get R done!!
Thanks to all

welcome.

buy parts from heeltoeauto.com, Marcus is great and he will answer any questions you have.

as far as upgrading, if youre not chasing horsepower start with the suspension. coilovers and rear sway bar make the car feel planted.

after that, youve got bolt ons: Intake, Header Exhaust. A catback exhaust replaces all of the stock exhaust from the catalytic converter to the exhaust tips. I wouldn't recommend getting a catback as your first mod though, not much bang for the buck there.

happy modding.

+1 suspension is key if you are looking to go to tracks id do all the same things listed above but add on hondata reflash, your gonna have to do a little of both our car handles better than how quick it is stock so id do antake and header off the bat should cost you under 500 bucks and give you a chance in the flat out parts of the track next suspension adjustible coilovers with a rear sway bar you should be pretty good after that but there is always more to do and lots of info on all these threads good luck

I see a add for coil oversprings I will post another thread but i might as well ask you guys while here.

2004 - 2008 Acura TSX Tein Coilovers - Plus rear camber

Is this somthing I should be looking at or wait till i have the car. is it a good deal, Great Deal, or No Big Deal just patient?
Thanks
or one more Question What parts fit Accord and TXS do the wheels if I find a hot set of wheels in the Accord section are they direct bolt ons?
Thanks again

i wouldnt buy those.. theyre dirty and the seller didnt make any effort to make them look presentable. He even took the coilover apart.... Thats a sick price though, but not worth it IMO.

Definately consider the suspension. The car handles very well stock, but with a few mods it will carve up the roads.

I would also seriously consider the Hondata reflash.

Coilovers are a must. TSX sits too high on stock suspension

1st BRAKES!!!!!

If your going to drive fast your 1st mod should be BRAKE upgrade, eather Big Brake Kit or Rotors, Pads and Stainles Steel brake lines. Yestoday I took my car to canyons and almost crashed, I would say get brake upgrade

Acura TSX Brake Rotors, Brake Pads, & Big Brake Kits - ROTORA Acura TSX 04 (FRONT) 4-PISTON Big Brake Kit Free Shipping!!!

If I would do the car again I would do

1) Brakes ( Rotora or Stoptech with 4 piston BBK )
2) Suspension ( Tein SS or BudyClub N+ or Skunk2 Pro-S )
3) Sway Bar ( H&R front and rear sway bar or Progress)
4) Wheels and Tires ( Tires - Nitto NT05 )
5) Intake ( CT Engineerings - Ice Box or Injen MR )
6) Headers ( Hytech or CT Engineering )

than high flow cat, catback exhoust, reflash and so on. For me handling is more important than extra 50hp

visuelz can only hope to improve, or face mass condemn.

I don't think you'd need a BBK for a stock car.

Thank for all the Welcomes!!
I should be getting the car next week..it could be two UGH!
I took it for a drive the other night. I found that I am not very good with the Auto/man shifter. I have never had Automtic. Man I need to learn to drive it before I get to carried away.
Is there a spot here about driving? I hope to get to the track this week but it might the next weekend.
You guys might want to take a look.
Highplainsraceway.com
also there are some great videos on youtube just search High plains raceway, motorcycles and cars.
