The CT icebox replaces the top cover of the air filter box, reuses the rubber tube at the bottom of the air filter box and adds a velocity stack at the bottom of the tube. I'm sure that CT Engineering's design would eliminate the tube if it would perform better. That's where I'm coming from.

It's one person's opinion versus another unless you get a dyno done with both setups. GL with your decision.

You can remove it with no problem. Plenty people have done it (me included) and never experienced any issues. If you simply remove the resonator no puddle of water will cause an issue to you, if you hit a "puddle" that would cause an issue then it really isn't a puddle, it takes a lot to hydrolock your car. A CAI would hydrolock way before a simple removal of the resonator. You will be fine, just don't try to Oregon Trail your car and you'll be fine.

As for the tubing, I kept the tubing from the airbox to the resonator but once you remove the resonator you can take that big old thing out and the tubing from the front bumper/engine bay out since they don't do much, if anything, for you.

I didnt mean the plastic tube that is connected to the airfilter box itself, but I was taking about the one that the resonator box sticks unto. One that sucks air in from the engine bay

Leave the short, soft tube that will suck air from behind the fender.
