New header for the TSX available
Hi guys,
I came across a new header for the TSX made by ASP. It is a custom header for the K24a2 engine, available in both mild steel and stainless steel.
Check it out:
Acura Headers
Pretty expensive I would say, a little less than JDM header like MaximWorks (M-Bit) and Toda Racing. So far, they have not provided a dyno chart yet, so the gains are still unknown.
They do have a dyno plot for an RSX I believe, which might give you some idea of the gains expected for a TSX.

Yes they are. I guess it's another option for 1st Gen TSX owners when shopping for a header. Probably the better bang for the buck race header would be the WeaponR. Otherwise, it's the TopSpeed/DC header choice or the JDM ones. I believe Toda Racing has introduced a header + test pipe for the CL9 fitment. It's official b/c I saw it in an Option magazine from Japan.

I don't know why you would spend that much on a header. According to the RSX dyno (which the TSX shouldn't be far off from), you can get the near the same results paying 1/6th the cost. Even 1/3 the cost will get you a very nice header that's probably no worse.

Is it? Toda header is $1200 and it deletes cat, Hytech header is $2500+ages of waiting+it doesnt fit stock components and has to come with its own cat and cat-back. I think this is a great deal..... as long as the outlet of this header is no less than 2.5 inches.

I think specs need to be advertised before shucking out that much money for headers, Toda and Hytech spec sheets are readily available. Unless your build a track star, paying that much is a waste.

i don't have a MT, so for me, it seems unreasonable to spend that much money on a header. but if people are serious about their bolt-ons and can tune their car, i dont' see the problem w/ spending the cash if you've got it. it's not like hytech and toda are junk.

Hytech header is 1400... 2850 will get you a full system... Hytech will also give you a very nice torque gain plus HP BTW Im pretty sure the one posted by the OP, it wont fit the stock cat/cat-back also... Maybe something to look into

ive got a ceramic coated DC sports header, bought it for $350, now ive read on here about the Hytech and the Toda race header and im aware of the nice gains they can produce, i guess its just a cost/benefit ratio you know? the header in the OP doesnt have proven hp or torque gain does it?

typo*
It has only place for oxygen sensor, so there must be a cat or test pipe that goes after it. Since it doesnt come with either of those things..... we will see tho

If it's not 1 piece (all the way to exhaust); or if you can put a stock cat on, then it's not a race header; which means it's not comparable to Hytech/Maxim/Toda race header. Most gain will come from a deleted cat, or hfc, the header design does play a role but in this case, you can compare it to a DC/Comptech at max, without proven stats. I'm not saying this is a bad design since I have not try it before, but the price is way high for minimal gain.

piping diameter is what matters too. Comptech and DC headers have 2" exit while hytech, toda, and wr have 2.5" exits. High flow cats provide almost equally good flow compared to test pipes. This header maybe great for those who live in the "free" and "liberal" state of California where cats are mandatory.

For that price, I probably will go with the K24 Toda Racing header + test pipe. It's a direct bolt-on, proven gains in hp and tq, and very nice welds as expected from a reputable Japanese tuner. I like the Toda Racing header, but cannot afford one for my TSX.
I just posted the link as an option and informational purpose. Just a comparison with other header available for the TSX.
Here's the link for the Toda Racing CL9 header:
