Comptech icobox intake vs other CAI?
Does anyone have any stats showing what a Comptech icebox will do to improve performance? Specifically horsepower gains?
I realize that the icebox provides the stock oem look and sound, but for overall performance gains, is the regular CAI worth it?
I would love to see a dyno on the comptech icebox but the pdf links all seem to be gone.

if you want stock looks and sound with a bit of performance, don't bother with icebox. get a header or pulleys or ECU reflash. They are much bigger power getters. Also remove the intake resonator, that makes some difference.

get Comptech icebox only if...
- u install yourself (save on installation)
- don't want it loud
- can live with just little gain, but is there...
I have icebox, and I like it.
I'm looking forward to get pulleys next.

Do a search, the icebox has more low end torque then a cai.

Will this be your first performance mod? It is a good place to start and the first thing I bought for my car in 2005. The ice-box is the best all around intake for the TSX IMO. It nets gains without sacraficing torque loss and excess noise.

I appreciate the feedback, but is the icebox a real gain or a psychological gain? I have searched several forums but nothing with proof that the icebox does gain hp. The forum is mostly filled with subjective responses without any dyno proof.
A friend of mine often tells me that a true CAI is the way to go for power and the icebox is negligible if any at all (he has an EP3 with a TSX k24 motor including a race header, CAI and kpro). In otherwords, don't waste your money. I really like the icebox idea but if it won't gain any real power, why bother?
This would be my first mod. I plan to follow it by getting a race header and finally a reflash... in that order.

Trust me, CAI sacrifices quite a bit of driveability on 4 cyl Hondas as it makes u lose some low end torque. Go for icebox as your intake mod, but if your just want to be quicker... header and reflash will make a BIG difference of your 06 TSX.

Why not just go short ram? I took an 04-05 SRI for TSX and fitted into my 06

thanks AGE. Thats what I was looking for. I guess my searching abilities are lacking. There is more horsepower on the true CAI and for torque, it would seem that the CAI has a broader torque curve than the icebox throughout the entire rpm range. Food for thought.
Thank you to all

I dont have dyno numbers but having an injen cai then switching to the icebox, i felt more of a low/mid end torque increase. But again, im AT so maybe having a CAI is not very benificial since I dont take my car to redline all the time.

Hey does anyone have the K&N CCA installed on their car? Any improvement over stock?
