You will only be able to rev it up to 9000 rpm. The K24A is not meant for high revs. To get it to rev to 8000 rpm you'll need to completely build your bottom end. You can get away stock at 7500 rpm. But how long will the engine last?

That I DO agree with. Perhaps a mild misunderstanding on my part, I just didn't want anyone to think that 7.5k is the highest the motor can actually go. 9k is plenty high.
K20 and F2xc motors can rev so much higher due to such a shorter stroke, but they also produce less mid range torque.
Thanks for quick reply.

i'm gonna tune to between 300 - 350 until i swap the tranny in summer. After the swap ill shoot for 400. Even 400whp is alot for this car probably, but whatever.

400whp is a lot. But then again me and my friends have never built high hp cars.

Can add that those engines are revvy not only because of its stroke size. All internals there are very good balanced and philosophy of those engines id to make HP which is on high revs. K24 is designed for low and mid range torque , the revs isnt a big necessity for this. Its possible to build k24 with 8500 rpm but internals must be top notch balanced and engine must be builded really hard ! High power NA engines is in past, its too costly, FI is our future )

Why don't you just do the swap 1st then build your car? IMO it will cost about the same to build your engine and boost it. You will end up paying double the tunning if you don't swap your tranny 1st.

Why do you want to swap the transmission? Automatic and turbo are perfect for each other.

Bulletproof your transmission. IPT has done the RSX Auto Trans and according to the acura service manual. The MCTA and MRMA transmissions are similar.

Stock MT tranny cant hold 400 hp and huge turbo torque for a long time, be shure ) Ull need to bulletproof it too. Usually 4th gear say goodbye at high rev shifting.
One guy at redliners has iTR dc5 turbo. When he was 350+ hp his tranny lives for a half of a year, after he pushed to 450+ his next tranny RIP in 2 weeks.

IPT looks like its in NJ. I would have to take off my trans and send it to them?
Im gonna look to see if i can find info on bulletproofed honda transmissions.

I agree with kuma 100%. Turbo + auto = lots of fun. Way less turbo lag, throttle just stays open and the power just keeps going.....
