All you need is the torque converter and an oil cooler.

They build the torque converters based on how much hp you want it to handle.

Torque kills transmissions not horsepower. You can push a million horsepower through a stock auto with out any problems if there's little tq. Horsepower is merely a measure of work output for an engine. Even though hp is proportional to tq at rev.

Would it be easier the s/c only reason i fancy s/c is just for access and simplicity reasons.

I just got off the phone with IPT. They recommend that the whole tranny be rebuilt for those power levels. A MT swap would be cheaper
$3550 total.
then i'd have to pay labor to drop the transmission and reinstall...
Im starting to think that instead of trying to work high HP out of this car, i should part out and just move on
i've always wanted an is350 or a 370z

Sorry, I don't mean to be rude but what did u expect? You want to make a slow, 200hp, fwd, N/A family sedan fly down the drag strip in under 12 seconds and push over twice the amount of power it pushes in stock form and want it to be cheap to build? As kids these days say, "get real, man".
