Running Full Piping + Test Pipe + Stock Rear Mufflers
Just wondering if anyone has tried running a larger piping with a test pipe, while running stock rear mufflers. Is there that horrible tin can whine sound like you hear on all the EK and EG guys who do the same thing?

But, isn't w00ted boosted? That changes the sound a lot if he is.

people might not know this but turbo cars can run straight pipe and they dont sound as loud as a straight pipe all motor car.. turbo cars makes less noise.

Some Turbo cars would run an restricted muffler for back pressure and boost. I was thinking about doing the set up since I do not want huge cannisters and wont be running a rear lip. Just dont want that Tin can sound.

run the test pipe, remove the pre-cat muffler and weld a replacement tube, and see what sounds you get. supposedly, it's not very 'tinny' at all.

I dont think it will be very "tiny" or weed wackerish.

I think there were around 550-600$? I'm 100% sure if I'm correct though. I do remember they were cheaper than the 650 now.

I have an 09 tsx, and i removed the secondary cat and replaced the stock resonator with a magnaflow which flows better. the car start up is almost like stock and normal driving is nice, you cannt tell differance much, just sounds a deeper. when u get on it is when you can reallyyyy hear it. the only thing i do not like is there is a rattle in the muffler, im not sure if that is what you are refering to, the shop said that is due to i free'd up the exhaust but the sound is now bouncing around in the stock mufflers
it is only noticable at low rpms, not above 2800 or so.
im thinking about running the comptech mufflers and putting the silencers in, to keep a nice deep tone that is not much louder than stock. or if i get enough people, than ATLP will build an exhaust system for the 2nd gen

I wouldn't bother with all the resonators or just mufflers. Simply build a new, custom, single outlet cat-back if u want sound and performance. Muffler does not have to cost a lot, but do NOT go cheap with resonators. Stick with Magnaflow.
Resonator resonates that high pinched, farty sound that our engines make and turns it into deeper, more mellow sound. It does 80% of the job of making the car sound good.
All the mufflers do is muffling/silencing. Even if you get a $50 muffler from Autozone and pair it up with a good Magnaflow resonator, it will sound good..... If you really wasnt a flashy, very deep sounding muffler, go for one of the HKS mufflers.
