Hondata reflash
I've been looking for relatively simple things to do to my car to increase speed etc, I cant really afford exhaust, headers, etc at this time. I know the ecu limits the car, I have injen cold air intake and the comptech short shifter, so realistically, what type of gains am I looking at should I get this done to my car?
forgive my dumbness....

the price of a reflash (about $600) is about the same as an exhaust or a header.
I don't have my car reflashed yet, but from my research I can confidently say that a reflash will give you the biggest gain in performance. I would at least get a header if you're going to get your ECU reflashed, but thats just my opinion.
My only concern about what you said is that if you can't afford a header or exhaust, you most likely won't be able to afford a reflash.

Hmm, I didn't know exhaust and/or headers were that price, I thought more for some reason...say I was to get the reflash, would I need to do new headers, or it would just maximize the reflash?
And again, I am new to the game, I was deprived as a teen and was forced to rock a '93 escort, so now I find myself trying to play catch up, with this being my first "real" car LOL!

Well there are exhausts and headers that cost much more than $600 out there. I just think the $600 range is a good place to start. (Note: prices in USD)
A header will only maximize the reflash. You don't NEED to replace the header in order to feel the benefits of a reflash.
Go to Hondata's website and read up on what they have. They have tons of good information, including what to send in when getting a reflash, where the parts are on your car, and how to remove them from your car.

Ideally I'd like all 3 at once, but realistically it'll be 1 by 1. What order should I go?

Well reflash does give a good gain, but it is very restricted by the exhaust manifold and 04 cat. I say get a header or if u live where smog check doesnt exist, a test pipe.

So basically, I should get headers prior to reflashing? And exhaust either before or after?

you should probably get the exhaust last.
if i were you, if you know you arent going to do huge mods (cams etc), i would reflash then get headers a cat then exhaust in that order.

Hey dude, before you go power, I generally think it's a better idea to go suspension first. I didn't upgrade headers or exhaust or cat before I got my reflash, and I don't intend to. The car is still a lot of fun to drive even without the exhaust mods.

cat = catalytic converter
cat back = the entire exhaust system back behind the catalytic converter
alot of people with 04 and 05s upgrade their catalytic converters to a higher flowing one since those years have more restrictive substrates

Thanks! I get it now, I'm sorry lol, I know I sound stupid
I'm just trying to understand....haha. So what would doing a cat first do? Nothing, or is that one of those things that helps maximize the reflash?
basically, I should do reflash, headers, cat, and exhaust?
thanks for your help guys!!!

Personally, as someone else mentioned, I would go with suspension mods first if you haven't done that already... then power. With that said, in terms of power mods, I would go header, cat, reflash, and forget the exhaust (unless you want the sound and aesthetics). A catback exhaust is a marginal performance mod at best after the other mods IMHO...
