anyone running a bigger throttle body?
i was looking around and see that spoon offers a 70mm throttle body for the k series motor. Is anyone running this product or a similar one?
i have an 09 tsx and am looking for more power, and there are not any parts out for my car as there are for the 1st gen.
does this product work? does it bolt up or are there modifications that need to be done? any idel issues?

For one thing its super expensive. Second, I think its a cable throttle where as our cars have DBW. You are better off sending yours to king motorsports to be bored out.
Throttle body boring
^Second thing from the bottom.

But, maxbore also does this and for a little cheaper with very quick turnaround. They can also portmatch to to your IM among other things. Hickman racing does alot, and I am trying to get him to build us a custom TB, he's done all of my head and intake porting through the years, good guy to work with.
I think maxbore does tb 100$, and portmatch to im 175

As posted above, it's better to get your stock one bored out. However, it is worth noting that there is a Spoon one which is drive-by-wire, but simply looks like a bored out stock one that is overpriced.
However, you'll barely feel a difference. I would say there's no real power gain, more a throttle response gain.

His TB was not bored properly, he had idle issues. If you get someone like KMS (as per the link above), you will have zero issues.

Yep, KMS = professionals with respect and experience. You will have a gain if u port the opening of the intake manifold. It has been dyno proven by Johnny Tso (JTso) from Azine. He had his TB bored out to 64MM by KMS and had 0 gains at first. Then he ported the opening of the intake manifold and gained 3-5 hp/tq all over the range. It makes sense why.....
On a side note, I kinda think that 71MM is an overkill for internally stock 05 TSX, but anyways.......

Naw 71 should be fine, would be better if tapered and with one of the shorter runners'd manifold though
Hell I ran 83 tapered to 77 on an h22, of course removed the iab plated and ended up having 320+ cfm through the head lol
But, when stock the larger TB just made things louder. The average for our lil 4 bangers is each 2cfm added through the head you have the potential for ~1whp if tuned properly and everything in tip-top shape.

Yea, I kinda doubt that our intake manifolds can really take advantage of big TB's.
